Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility, South Burlington’s only women’s prison, is a hotbed for abuse that is not keeping our communities any safer. Vermont has one of the lowest incarceration rates in the country, and yet state leaders still want to spend $70M building a NEW women's prison. We believe these resources should be used on housing, substance use interventions, education, and mental health services instead.
