(Audio) Stop Suffolk Construction
Suffolk Construction was selected to manage the Massachusetts women’s prison project.
Despite overwhelming opposition from incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women, impacted families, advocates, and community members, Suffolk Construction is moving forward in its bid to build Massachusetts' new women's prison.
The price tag has now climbed to more than $360 million.
Suffolk ignored direct outreach from Families for Justice as Healing and The National Council, as well as hundreds of messages from people across the Commonwealth calling on the company to walk away from this project.
Massachusetts doesn't need another prison. Women need safe housing, healthcare, mental health and substance use treatment, economic opportunity, and pathways home, not another $380 million prison built during an affordability crisis and a time of devastating federal cuts.

And while this fight continues, so does ours: bringing women home through parole, medical parole, and clemency.
